Salmon River Joint School District #243 app for iPhone and iPad

Located in Riggins, Idaho (the lower Idaho pan handle), the Salmon River School District 243 has a K-12 enrollment of approximately 125 students, a full time principal and 14 teachers. The district is committed to improving student learning and achievement at all levels.

The Salmon River School District is nestled in a deep mountain canyon with the Main and Little Salmon rivers running at its doorstep and just west is the Snake River, giving its reputation, “The Whitewater Capital” of Idaho. Recreational opportunities abound, making our area a natural learning habitat. Wild game–including elk, deer, bear, wild turkey, grouse, chukar–and the best Chinook salmon and steelhead fishing in Idaho abound in the national forest areas and waters that make up our backyard. Riggins has a mild winter climate, but is only an hour away from major ski areas. Riggins is 150 miles north of Boise and 110 miles south of Lewiston.
